In Spa Francorchamps 1971 they stayed until monday and helped their friend Martti Pesonen after the race. He fell during the practice in the fast Stavelot and Jarno realized it was him when he saw an ambulance. It is incredible how Jarno stopped and followed the ambulance on the normal road! On his racing bike. Martti was astonished when he heard Jarno’s voice: "Martti how are you". He needed help because he speaks only Finnish.
Spa was 14.1 km long circuit. Jarno had a hard race here with Theo Bult in the 250cc class but due to technical problems he had to stop. And there was no 350cc class.
